Munuki SC forward Faisam “Faizo” Luhachimba has been moved to Juba Central Prison after his second arrest in a blackmail case his girlfriend filed.

Faizo was previously held at Munuki Police Station, then at Kubri Habo, and now faces imminent court proceedings.

The ex-striker of Kator FC and Al-Hurriya FC confronts both criminal charges and the real possibility of deportation.

Faizo joined Munuki SC in June 2024 using a Ugandan ID, but during interrogation he claimed Tanzanian nationality, triggering investigations into identity fraud.

Juba Central Prison, built for 300–500 inmates, is severely overcrowded, housing thousands, many awaiting trial in conditions with poor sanitation, stretching water, food, and medical supply shortages.

These developments highlight broader challenges with prolonged pretrial detention and systemic flaws in South Sudan’s justice and prison systems, as echoed in UN reports on arbitrary arrests and excessive remand populations.

Authorities have acknowledged these challenges and are working towards judicial reforms to address the overcrowding and expedite legal processes

His next court appearance will be critical in determining whether he faces criminal conviction, deportation, or other legal outcomes.
