
South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Wednesday over see the swearing-in of newly appointed Central Equatoria Govern Gen. Rabi Mujung Emmanuel, delivering a strong message packed with expectations.
Kiir issued a firm directive to Governor Rabi Mujung, calling on him to lead with integrity, tackle rampant land grabbing, and enhance security across the state particularly in the capital, Juba.
He urged Governor Rabi to addressing unregulated land allocation, a source of growing tension among communities, and instructed the governor to ensure fair and transparent distribution of land for housing, investment, and public projects.
He also warned against ethnic divisions and urged the people of Central Equatoria to work together in unity to build a peaceful and inclusive society.
In addition, Kiir tasked the new leadership with fixing Juba’s deteriorating road network, stressing that proper infrastructure is crucial to boosting service delivery and economic growth.
Governor Mujung, in his remarks, pledged to carry out the President’s directives with full commitment, assuring the public of his readiness to deliver peace, stability, and progress to the state.
