Team Kakuwa Power (TKP) has officially entered the Kakuwa community leadership race, launching what it describes as an inclusive campaign aimed at uniting the Kakuwa people across Greater Yei counties ahead of the August 2025 elections.
The launch, held Wednesday in Juba, brought together supporters, elders, and aspiring leaders who pledged to restore community harmony, uphold cultural identity, and promote inclusive development. TKP’s campaign is anchored in a central mission: To Restore, Rebuild, Renew, and Preserve the Unity and Culture of the Kakuwa People.
Chairmanship aspirant Mr. Dada Isaac Lemi, hailing from Lainya County, is leading the team. He is joined by Mr. Sebit Nicolas (Secretary General candidate from Yei) and Ms. Joyce Yobu (Finance Secretary candidate from Morobo), forming a leadership trio representing all corners of the Greater Yei region.
“Our strength lies in unity, and this campaign is about all of us—youth, women, elders, traditional and religious leaders,” said Lemi. “We are offering a leadership team that reflects the whole Kakuwa family.”
TKP’s campaign promises are built on six strategic pillars: building strong community institutions, promoting socio-cultural development, advancing economic growth, and empowering leaders, youth, and women alike.
During the launch, TKP leaders emphasized their commitment to grassroots inclusion and peaceful democratic engagement. “We are not just seeking office—we are seeking restoration of our shared identity and values,” said Ms. Yobu.
The team urged the community to actively participate in the electoral process and to use the campaign period as a time of learning, listening, and uniting. “This is a people’s movement,” Mr. Nicolas added. “Together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive Kakuwa.”
As the campaign season unfolds, TKP will continue engaging with local communities, sharing its programs, and promoting peaceful coexistence as the foundation for lasting unity and prosperity.
