SSFF and Molobur community join forces to secure Stadium land

South Sudanese football may be on the cusp of a major breakthrough as the South Sudan Football Federation (SSFF) and the Molobur Development Association come together to fast-track the acquisition of land for a future stadium.

The high-level meeting, held this week in Juba, brought together SSFF President Francis Amin Michael, First Deputy Makur Majok, Executive Committee member Advocate Abdullah Abdu Abdullah, and Molobur community leaders led by Stephen Swoka Mario.

At the heart of the discussions was a plot of land earmarked for stadium development, a property allocated to the federation in 2013, but whose transfer has faced delays for over a decade.

Speaking after the meeting, SSFF Secretary General Lawrence highlighted the federation’s determination to work hand-in-hand with the community.

“The federation is committed to ensuring that all requirements are fulfilled promptly. The discussions were productive, and a clear path forward has been agreed upon. We are determined to fast-track the land transfer so football in South Sudan can take a significant step forward,” he said.

Molobur Development Association chair, Stephen Swoka Mario, acknowledged the challenges surrounding land acquisition in South Sudan but urged decisive action to secure the property.

“This land has been reserved for football for many years, yet progress stalled. Protecting it from encroachment is vital,” Swoka said.

The joint effort represents more than just football development; it reflects a growing partnership between the federation and local communities to foster sustainable growth and investment.

Both sides pledged to maintain momentum, ensuring that the long-delayed stadium project finally becomes a reality.

Football fans across the country now watch with anticipation as South Sudan edges closer to realizing a modern stadium, a milestone that promises to elevate the sport while strengthening ties between the federation and local communities.
