President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Saturday departed Juba for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on an official diplomatic visit aimed at reinforcing the long-standing relations between the two nations.
In a statement issued by the Presidential Press Unit, Press Secretary Ambassador David Amuor Majur said the visit will focus on expanding trade cooperation, attracting investment, and exploring new opportunities for economic partnership between South Sudan and the UAE.
“President Kiir is expected to meet senior Emirati officials in Abu Dhabi to discuss expanding trade partnerships and encouraging investors to explore the abundant opportunities available in South Sudan,” Ambassador Amuor said.
He emphasized that the visit reflects the shared commitment of both nations to deepen diplomatic and economic cooperation in pursuit of sustainable growth and mutual prosperity.
The United Arab Emirates has become one of South Sudan’s key international partners, with growing collaboration in infrastructure development, agriculture, energy, and humanitarian assistance.
Kiir’s trip is seen as part of Juba’s broader efforts to strengthen foreign relations and position South Sudan as a viable destination for investment in the region.
