Tristar has renewed its one-year support to the South Sudan Football Federation, coupling the extension with a strong call for clearer, more accountable handling of football development funds.
The renewed agreement, signed over the weekend, commits $250,000 toward the Bright Stars’ head coach, technical staff, and essential training equipment.
The extension reinforces Tristar’s position as one of the key private-sector contributors to football development in the country.
In a sideline interview, Tristar Country Manager Ravneesh Aujla reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the national team while stressing that transparent financial management will be a central condition for continued support.
Aujla highlighted the broader role of sport in community development, particularly in shaping the lives of young people.
“Tristar has supported the SSFF since 2019 as part of our commitment to youth development and keeping young people away from crime,” he said.
However, he also emphasized that accountability must go hand in hand with investment.
“Going forward, transparency and accountability are vital. We count on the media to help ensure that every contribution is used responsibly.”
Aujla encouraged other companies to join in supporting sports initiatives, noting the private sector’s shared responsibility in developing local talent and strengthening national unity.
“Our commitment to community development will continue, as we believe in empowering our youth through sports and education,” he added, extending his best wishes to the SSFF leadership and coaching staff.
During the signing ceremony in Juba, SSFF President Francis Amin welcomed the extension and praised Tristar’s long-term dedication to football development.
“We appreciate Tristar’s support, which demonstrates their commitment to the growth of football in South Sudan. Together, we will strengthen our national team and inspire a love for the game among our youth,” he said.
Beyond football, Tristar has contributed significantly to community initiatives across South Sudan.
Since 2009, the company has invested over $1.3 million in support to the SSFF and grassroots football programs.
With the renewed partnership, Tristar and the SSFF look ahead to a more accountable, more united, and more ambitious future for South Sudanese football.
