The South Sudan Football Federation (SSFF) and the Cross Cultures Project Association (CCPA) have aligned efforts to reignite grassroots football development following a high-level meeting in Juba.
SSFF President Francis Amin Michael and Secretary General Bak Athian Bak met with a CCPA delegation led by Managing Director Anders Levinsen and Country Director Lat Tungwar to review their existing partnership and chart a clearer path for implementation.
Central to the talks was the revival of a Memorandum of Understanding supported by the UEFA Foundation for Children, aimed at rolling out structured grassroots football programmes in Bentiu, with a focus on youth participation, social inclusion, and community engagement.
CCPA emphasized the need for coordinated planning, technical alignment, and sustainable delivery, stressing that clear roles and shared responsibility are key to restoring momentum and achieving long-term impact.
Among the major proposals was the creation of a joint and independent department dedicated to grassroots football development, designed to strengthen infrastructure, nurture young talent, and expand access to organized football at community level.
Both SSFF and CCPA expressed optimism that the renewed alignment marks a strategic step toward building a solid foundation for football development in South Sudan, positioning grassroots football as the backbone of the game’s future.
