
President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Monday held high-level talks with Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between South Sudan and Uganda.
The meeting focused on key political, economic, and security issues affecting the two neighboring countries and the wider region.
According to officials, the two leaders discussed ways to deepen cooperation on regional peace and security, including joint efforts to address cross-border threats and maintain stability along the shared border.
Kiir and Museveni also explored strategies to improve trade and economic ties between Juba and Kampala through infrastructure development and regional connectivity projects.
Among the major areas discussed were road and railway links connecting the two countries, as well as plans for enhanced power connectivity to support economic growth and regional integration.
