Juba security forces arrest 623 in sweeping anti-gang operation

Security forces in Juba have arrested at least 623 suspected members of criminal gangs in a large-scale operation aimed at restoring public safety, Central Equatoria State’s Deputy Governor Paulino Lukudo has confirmed.

The suspects are allegedly affiliated with notorious groups such as 4SG Slime, West Cost, ODA, Killers Gang, Black Devils, and others.

According to Lukudo, the crackdown follows a recent gang-related rape incident involving a teenage girl that triggered widespread outrage and demands for government action.
