Hundreds of business leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors gathered at Imperial Hotel in Juba on Wednesday for a high-stakes networking event aimed at connecting South Sudan’s expanding private sector with German technological solutions.
Organised by Central Equatoria Business Union (CEBU) in strategic partnership with Pan-African Alliance of Small and Medium Industries (PAASMI), the event showcased a range of innovative possibilities, focusing on solar energy, household supplies, and sports technology.
The highlight of the day was a presentation by BTECH Germany Technology, which introduced a variety of innovative and sustainable products to entrepreneurs.
The showcase was well received by entrepreneurs and business leaders, as it addressed a vital need for reliable and environmentally friendly solutions in the country.
Mr. Soso Yaya, Deputy Secretary-General of South Sudan National Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture (SSNCCIA), officially opened the networking event.
Representing Chairman Losidik Lukak Legge, he commended CEBU for strengthening business connections and welcomed BTECH Germany to South Sudan, emphasising that renewable energy is essential for driving sustainable economic growth.
Mr. Thomas Muto Lo’Buda, Patron of CEBU and a consultant for the Juba Special Economic Zone, assured international investors of the availability of land within the Zone, stressing its purpose to attract long-term investments, create jobs, and support South Sudan’s economic development.
Meanwhile, Mr. Juma Khamis Juma, Chairman of CEBU and CEO of Bros Group of Companies, expressed gratitude to the National Chamber of Commerce, the international business community, and local enterprises for participating.
He highlighted that business growth depends on strong networks and stated that CEBU’s core mission is to empower young entrepreneurs and connect them to global markets through strategic networking.
The event also conveyed a strong pan-African message. Speaking on behalf of PAASMI, Dr. Henry E. Emejuo, CEO of the organisation, emphasised that Africa’s economic transformation can only be achieved through industrialisation.
He committed PAASMI to continuing collaboration with African governments, trade organisations, and business unions like CEBU to promote sustainable growth.
During an interactive session, local entrepreneurs posed important questions about environmental impact.
Responding directly, BTECH Germany’s Chairman, Mr. Emeka Roy Ezeala, and Vice President of Sales, Mr. Andreas, assured that all BTECH products meet strict European safety and environmental standards, making them a safe and responsible choice for the African market.
As handshakes were exchanged and new relationships built, the event sent a clear message of CEBU’s dedication to positioning South Sudan not just as a land of potential but as a competitive and ambitious hub for regional and global trade.
