President Salva Kiir Mayardit has urged newly appointed government officials to dedicate themselves to serving the interests of the nation, delivering essential services, and promoting peace and unity across South Sudan.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony held at the State House in Juba, President Kiir reminded the officials that their new roles come with high expectations from the people and the government.
“You have been entrusted with a national duty. Serve the people with honesty, humility, and commitment. Put the interests of the country above everything else,” Kiir said.
Those sworn in included Tut Gatluak Manime as Presidential Advisor on National Security Affairs, Africano Mande Gedima as Minister of Presidential Affairs, Dr. Barnaba Bak Chol as Minister of Finance and Planning, and Moulana Athian Akec Ong’a as Head of the Legal Department.
President Kiir emphasized the importance of teamwork and integrity in public service, urging the appointees to work together to consolidate peace, strengthen institutions, and address economic challenges.
“Our government’s priority is to build unity, improve service delivery, and restore confidence in public institutions,” he added.
The President reiterated his administration’s focus on promoting national cohesion, stability, and accountability, saying these values remain central to South Sudan’s path toward lasting peace and development.
The newly appointed officials pledged to fulfill their duties faithfully and support the President’s vision for a peaceful and prosperous South Sudan.
