The Judiciary of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has launched a mobile circuit court in Nyamlell to expand access to justice for remote communities.
The new court marks a significant step toward improving legal service delivery across the state, addressing the long-standing challenges faced by residents who often have to travel long distances to access judicial services.
By bringing legal services closer to the community, the judiciary aims to reduce the burden on citizens while promoting fairness, transparency, and timely resolution of cases.
During the launch, Aweil West County Commissioner Abuol Akol expressed appreciation for the judiciary’s efforts.
“I appreciate the team of the judiciary and the United Nations Development Program for coming to Aweil West County to launch the circuit. This move is testimony to bringing legal services to the local community,” Commissioner Akol said.
These efforts aim to expand judicial outreach, improve case management, and strengthen public confidence in justice institutions.
Officials say the establishment of the circuit court in Nyamlell will help speed up case processing, raise legal awareness, and make justice more accessible for residents living far from state-level courts.
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and its partners acknowledged the crucial collaboration of local authorities, judicial officers, and community stakeholders who made the deployment possible.
