The undersecretary to the Ministry of Trade and Industry has reaffirmed his commitment to working alongside ministry’s leadership to enhancing trade, industry, and private sector development.

Speaking before Hon. Minister and other distinguished guests, Manyuat, who was recently appointed by President Salva Kiir, emphasized his dedication to transparency, accountability, and efficient service delivery.

He highlighted the ministry’s role as the government’s technical advisory institution on trade and industry, stating that under strong leadership, they will implement resolutions from the 2025 South Sudan Trade Forum in alignment with World Trade Organization policies to build confidence within the business sector.

“We shall support our infant industries to properly improve their product standards with proper packaging and standard labelling by the South Sudan Bureau of Standards to aid us in competing equally in the regional and international market,” Manyuat said.

He also advocated for fair competition and consumer protection, ensuring goods and services remain accessible at reasonable prices.

Manyuat added “We will maintain and expand friendly trade and trade relations with our neighboring countries in areas of trade and industry, which can assist the government in its short-term and long-term plans of market intervention.”

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve, he pledged full cooperation with Hon. Minister and Vice President for Economic Cluster, Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel, in advancing South Sudan’s trade and industry.
