SSFF Reveals 172 million SSP earned from two home games

The South Sudan Football Federation (SSFF) has announced that it generated a total of 172.79 million South Sudanese Pounds (SSP) from ticket sales during the two World Cup qualifier matches hosted in Juba this month.

Speaking at a press briefing in Juba, Gatjang Matiok Nhal, the chairperson of the SSFF Finance Committee, said the disclosure was part of the Federation’s effort to promote financial transparency and accountability in sports administration.

“We want to build trust with football fans and stakeholders by being open about how much we make and how it is managed,” Mr. Nhal told reporters.

According to the breakdown, the South Sudan vs. Senegal match on 10th October brought in 156.85 million SSP, while the South Sudan vs. Togo game on 13th October accounted for 15.94 million SSP in ticket sales.

Sports analysts have hailed the move as a landmark moment for the Federation, saying it’s the first time in the country’s football history that such financial details have been made public.

Both matches, played at the newly renovated Juba National Stadium, attracted record crowds as the Bright Stars continued their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.

Despite a heavy 5–0 loss to Senegal, South Sudan bounced back to secure a morale-boosting 0–0 draw against Togo, earning their first point at home.

The SSFF’s gesture toward transparency has been widely seen as a positive step for football governance, reinforcing confidence in how the sport’s finances are managed.
