Vice President Bol escorts wife to justice ministry as she assumes office

South Sudan’s Vice President Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel personally escorted his wife, Advocate Sarah Peter Nyot, to assume her new post as Counsel General in the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.

A statement from the Vice President’s office hailed Sarah as “an accomplished lawyer with vast international experience,” and affirmed her pledge to serve the nation with diligence, integrity, and unshakable commitment.

She vowed to fortify the rule of law, safeguard the constitutional order, and expand access to justice for all South Sudanese citizens.

Welcoming her appointment, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Dr. Joseph Geng Aketch stressed that Sarah’s expertise would be vital in advancing the Ministry’s mandate to anchor accountability, justice, reconciliation, and national unity.

At the same event, Vice President Bol delivered a stern call for rigorous enforcement of legal safeguards in all government financial dealings, warning that transparency, fiscal discipline, and the protection of national resources must no longer be negotiable.
