Young Boy steals the spotlight at STA Awards 2025 in Juba

South Sudanese music star Young Boy emerged as the undisputed highlight of the STA Awards 2025, held on 13 December in Juba, after sweeping the night’s top honors and thrilling fans at the star-studded ceremony.

Young Boy walked away with Best Overall Artist of the Year and Best Overall Male Artist of the Year, firmly cementing his influence on the country’s music scene.

He further strengthened his dominance by clinching Hip Hop Artist of the Year, drawing loud cheers from the audience as his name was repeatedly announced.

The STA Awards 2025 brought together leading talents from music, film, dance, comedy, fashion and digital media, celebrating excellence across South Sudan’s fast-growing creative industry.

While Young Boy ruled the night, the ceremony also recognized outstanding contributions from other artists and creatives shaping the cultural landscape.

Suzy Nadu was honored as Best Overall Female Artist of the Year, highlighting the growing presence of women in the industry. In comedy and online influence, Rocka Ringo delivered a double win, taking home Best Social Media Influencer of the Year and Best Comedian of the Year.

Music production and performance were also celebrated, with Bravo Kissy named Best Afrobeats Artist of the Year, T. Senior winning Producer of the Year, and SSD Migos crowned Best Music Group of the Year.

The film and fashion categories showcased creative depth, as Dream Big Entertainment won Best Film of the Year and Madam Doris earned Designer of the Year.

The night’s special Academy Choice Awards went to Amach Mathiang (Risky) and DM Life, recognizing their exceptional impact and originality.

As applause echoed through the venue and music carried the celebration late into the night, Young Boy’s multiple wins symbolized not just personal success, but the rising confidence and creativity of South Sudan’s entertainment industry.
