Juba Airport’s main entrance to close temporarily for renovations

The main entrance gate of Juba International Airport will be temporarily closed starting Friday, June 20, 2025, to allow for critical renovation works.

The announcement was made by the Deputy Director General of the airport, Engineer Mosety Kat Monyjok, who stated that the closure is part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades.

During the renovation period, the airport’s exit gate will serve dual purposes, handling both entry and exit traffic.

Airport authorities advised passengers, staff, and the general public to cooperate with traffic personnel on-site to maintain safety and order.

Despite its strategic importance, the airport has faced several setbacks, including incomplete projects, war-related halts, and poor international ratings.

The facility has also witnessed multiple air incidents in the last decade.

Authorities are hopeful that the current renovations will user experience, gradually transforming the facility into a modern gateway for the nation.
