President Salva Kiir Mayardit has sacked three ministers and revoked the appointments of seven members of the State Transitional Legislative Assembly, including the Speaker, in Warrap State, part of a broader reshuffle targeting officials serving under the SPLM-IO ticket.

The affected ministers are: Achol Lum (Animal Resources, Fisheries and Tourism), Rose Anyang Ayok (Gender, Child and Social Welfare), and Ayiik Manyang Agoth (Lands and Housing). They have been replaced by Gau John, Piol Buoi Ariath, and Rebecca Achol Akuien, respectively.

The Presidential decrees also revoked the appointments of Speaker Kuec Deng Mayar and seven MPs, including Arop Arop Akol and Makuac Paul.

Their positions were subsequently filled by Speaker Hon. Anei Arop Agany and new members including Hon. Deng Malek Akook and Hon. Ring Kondok, among others.

The gubernatorial decrees were officially read out on Warrap State Radio, signaling immediate effect.

The reshuffle affects key portfolios previously held by SPLM-IO members, including gender, lands, and fisheries.

No official statement has yet been issued by the affected SPLM-IO officials, but the reshuffle is expected to have significant implications for governance and party dynamics in the state ahead of the planned 2026 elections.
