Athuai Rehan, a South Sudanese business professional and academic has today September 26, earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the United States International University (USIU) Africa, at its 48th commencement ceremony in Nairobi , Kenya, capping years of dedication, research and academic excellence.
Driven by dedication, determination and a clear commitment to academic excellence, Dr. Athuai embarked on his PhD journey nearly six years ago.
However, after years of determination, perseverance and hard work, that journey has finally culminated in a well-deserved PhD.
Athuai Rehan is a South Sudan-based business professional with over eight years of experience in finance, corporate strategy, procurement, contracts management, consultancy and institutional coordination.
He has managed procurement processes, supplier engagement, tendering, contract negotiations and policy development while supporting infrastructure and connectivity projects and strengthening procurement controls and procedures.
He currently serves as a Non-Executive Director (NED) at Ronalds LLP East Africa and as Procurement and Contracts Manager at Digitel Telecommunications.
Dr. Rehan has also taught both undergraduate and graduate courses at the University of Juba and the Catholic University of South Sudan, including Business Policy and Strategy, Financial Institutions and Markets, Management Information Systems, and Procurement Principles and Management.
He is a member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM).
Dr. Rehan holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from the United States International University-Africa (USIU-Africa), an MBA in Corporate Strategy and Management from the University of Nairobi, an MSc and Postgraduate Diploma in Procurement and Logistics from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Technology from Kenya Methodist University.
His areas of expertise include strategic management, digital transformation, data-driven decision-making, and business turnaround strategies.
His recent research and publications focus on digital infrastructure development, organizational agility, and perceived competitive advantage within telecommunications firms in South Sudan.
Dr. Rehan frequently works as a business policy and management consultant across East and Southern Africa, supporting organizations and professionals pursuing opportunities in the digital economy.
