Gov’t prosecution slams Bol Mel ‘leak report’ as fabricated disinformation

The government’s Investigation and Prosecution Committee handling the case against Bol Mel has strongly rejected a document circulating online under the title “Investigation Committee Leak Report: Bol Mel Electronic Diary,” describing it as fabricated and part of a deliberate disinformation campaign.

In an official statement, the Committee said it has no knowledge of any “electronic diary” linked to the case and dismissed all allegations contained in the document as false.

It emphasized that the names, financial figures, and claims presented in the report have no factual or legal basis and do not form part of any ongoing investigation.

“The Committee categorically rejects the contents of the so-called leak report. It is entirely fictitious and misleading,” the statement said.

Authorities further clarified that official findings from the investigation are never released informally or through unauthorized channels.

Instead, such information is communicated strictly through secure and verified government platforms in accordance with legal procedures.

The Committee pointed out that the circulating document lacks essential institutional identifiers, including official letterheads, reference numbers, and authentication marks, which are standard in legitimate government communications.

These omissions, it said, clearly indicate that the document is a forgery.

Officials warned that the spread of such material risks undermining the integrity of the legal process and could mislead the public.

They described the document as part of a coordinated effort to damage reputations and interfere with due process in a high-profile case.

“The dissemination of false and unverified information not only misinforms the public but also threatens the credibility of ongoing judicial proceedings,” the statement added.

The Committee urged members of the public and media organizations to exercise caution and refrain from sharing unverified content.

It called on all stakeholders to rely solely on official government communications for accurate updates regarding the case.

Investigations into the matter involving Bol Mel remain ongoing, with authorities reiterating their commitment to transparency, due process, and the rule of law.
