South Sudan has launched a nationwide voter awareness campaign to encourage citizens to participate in the country’s upcoming general elections.
The National Elections Commission (NEC) marked the start of the campaign with an awareness procession through Juba, calling on citizens to engage in civic education programmes and familiarize themselves with the electoral process.
According to the commission, the campaign seeks to equip voters with the knowledge needed to make informed choices and understand their rights and responsibilities during the elections.
The nationwide programme forms part of ongoing preparations for the December 22, 2026 polls.
