Kiir drops major reshuffle in Western Equatoria State government

President Salva Kiir Mayardit has issued a series of presidential decrees announcing a major reshuffle in the government of Western Equatoria State, relieving and appointing several state officials.

The decrees, read on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation on Friday evening, affected ministers, advisors, commission chairpersons, and county commissioners within the state administration.

Among those relieved from their positions are Azera Mina, State Advisor for Legal Affairs; Morris Bazia, Minister of Finance, Planning and Investment; Isaac Mursal, Minister of Labour, Public Service and Human Resource Development; and Elia Usini Dominic, Minister of Information and Communication.

Other officials removed include Abuida Samuel, Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption Commission; Amos Manga, Chairperson of the HIV/AIDS Commission; Charles Alley, Deputy Chairperson of the Human Rights Commission; Wilson Atilio Saine, Deputy Chairperson of the Employees Justice Chamber; and Isaac Atoroba Moses, a member of the Conflict Resolution Committee.

Also relieved are Elizabeth Richard Bagboro, Member of the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission; Henry Bangagada, Commissioner of Nagero County; Rubben Amaai, Commissioner of Mvolo County; and Hon. Lino Futaki Kuago, Commissioner of Nzara County.

In the same decrees, President Kiir appointed new officials to take over several key positions in the state government. Costa F. Akile Fulanguru was named the new Advisor for Legal Affairs, while Bakiki Simple John Francis was appointed Minister of Finance, Planning and Investment.

Mohamed Juma Bistin was appointed Minister of Information and Communication, while Bazia Tito Morris takes over as Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption Commission.

Mathia James Ture was named Chairperson of the HIV/AIDS Commission.

Other appointments include Hipai Regina Romano as Deputy Chairperson of the Human Rights Commission and Koro Silvan Bring as Deputy Chairperson of the Employees Justice Chamber.

Ezra Mina was appointed a member of the Conflict Resolution Committee, while Jenty Masu was named a member of the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission.

At the county level, Nicola Vero Usini was appointed Commissioner of Nagero County, Isaac Sebit Brown was named Commissioner of Mvolo County, and Isaac Atoroba Moses was appointed Commissioner of Nzara County.

The reshuffle represents one of the latest changes in the leadership structure of Western Equatoria State, as the national government continues to adjust state administrations across the country.
