Jadalla issues fresh directives on crime, fire risks and cattle return

Caretaker Governor of Central Equatoria State, Gen. Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani, has issued fresh directives on crime prevention, fire safety, cattle return and urban cleanliness following a weekly State Security Committee meeting in Juba.

According to the Office of the Governor, the meeting reviewed security and public safety concerns and outlined measures aimed at protecting lives and property across the state.

On fire prevention, Juba City Council and Juba County authorities were directed to assess potential fire hazards around Korok Hill and address risks associated with uncertified electrical connections in residential areas and markets.

The committee also reaffirmed the presidential directive requiring cattle to be returned to their places of origin.

On urban management, authorities were instructed to continue cleaning Juba City and Juba County and clear roads occupied by roadside vendors.

Officials were also directed to identify temporary locations for weekly markets to enable traders to operate without obstructing roads and sidewalks.

The meeting further directed security forces to intensify patrols and address criminal activities, including bag-snatching and harassment allegedly involving gangs known as “Torontos.”

Residents were urged to cooperate with security agencies in efforts to combat crime, maintain public order and improve safety in their communities.

The meeting forms part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to address security concerns, reduce fire risks, enforce the cattle-return directive and improve urban management across Central Equatoria State.
